Annular Solar Eclipse (Asia and North America) 5/20/2012

There will be a annular solar eclipse on May 20th (North America) and May 21st (Asia) for people situated in Asia and North America. Please see the the related links for more information:

1. Depending on your location you may only be able to view a partial eclipse. It's been a long while for my location (1994). Although this time around it will only be a partial eclipse and when the sun is setting. :cry: :cry: I should be able to get approx 50 minutes of viewing time (as long as the weather stays clear and I hope I can find a location where the tree line is a minimum looking West). Yes, I will be looking West. The sun still sets in the West, yes? ;)

2. Make sure to check out the second link for proper eye protection. I have recently purchased a solar filter for my telescope so hopefully I will be able to take a couple of snap shots with my filter/camera combo. Not so sure as to how the light will travel through the filter. It appears a little trial and error is in order.
