Is anyone else playing the fun little game called Alien Swarm?

if not, get it. It's free, and quite a lot of fun. It's a 4-player co-op, top down 3rd person shooter.

I -- wow this looks really cool.

I play a lot of Diablo 2 with my friends from AZ to stay in touch with them when I'm gone for the summer. This looks like the sort of thing that we might be able to play together -- although, the reason we stick to D2 is computer requirements, so I'll see.

Reminds me of a Gauntlet in space with guns.

It IS really cool.

And yeah, it's very Diablo/Gauntlet-ish... just in space. With big guns and nasty aliens.

The cooperative element is more outspoken here, though. You really need the different classes to do well (or to even make it).

I'm not sure what the requirements for AS are, but for some reason I don't imagine they're too high.

We should get more people playing, and do some games together!

But it takes some getting used to. If we play, I can teach you some stuff, I'm sure.

I've capped the leveling thing in two weeks, played it through in every difficulty but the hardest one and done a few speedruns. It's a really fun game, though I usually just use the two easier difficulties and goof around. Don't have that many friends playing it that we could do a 4man run with just friends in order to try the hardest difficulty. Think I've done the first level in the hardest.

Great game indeed.
