What can be said other then DOH!!! But then again although i don,´t live in Florida or even in the American continent i can still see a HUGE problem here.
If security is that lax and almost any john or jane doe with some hacking skill can hack into a voting system then theres a problem a really BIG problem as all kinds of people would be able to go in and manipulate the voting results and as such rendering any legit election moot.

Instead of idiotic pushes for "efficiency" which do little more than make sure people have fewer jobs, can we PLEASE get a return to paper ballots? Every registered voter gets ONE ballot and delivers ONE ballot. These ballots are counted by a randomly selected group from a different region than cast. Who fucking cares if it takes three days for a count, or even twenty if verification by interview is needed by random sampling to insure integrity. Both political sides have committed ridiculous frauds, Bush for president and Franken for senate are just two examples of asinine voter fraud.

edit: in fact, I think that not only should every ballot be paper, but that each should be fingerprint endorsed.

US-wide, that would result in about 15'000'000 reports of fingerprint/ID mismatch simply due to chance.

You want to clean up *that* mess?

Well if the choice is between a "fixed" vote where a man suddenly gets a few more percentage to then he really got not a lot, but just enough to win over the other guy vs getting a 100% legit choice with no doubt what so ever who won well then i would prefer to rip out a month or two of my time to clean up "that" mess.

Otherwise whats the point of a democracy if anyone can change the votes to fit his or hers agenda?
