A request for collaboration

Hi all!

I just posted a new (long overdue) video on YouTube where I ask for help on a little project.
Here's the video:

Now, I thought I'd divulge some more specific information in here.

The first pardy song is about all the DMCAs we've seen flying around.
I actually thought it up many months ago when they first started appearing, but I thought those were dead after TF made VFX apologize like a little boy.

Anyway, so a couple months ago when they started reappearing I dug up the idea and finished the lyrics.

So I was thinking some of us could collaborate on a video project, somehow getting these lyrics out there.
Essentially, the ideal solution would be if someone could maybe re-record the entire song with the new lyrics, but that may be a bit ambitious.
Maybe it would be doable to just get the new lyrics sung over the original music?
See, this is where my inexperience and ignorance with this stuff comes in. :)

Like I say in the video, the most I could hope to do myself is to run a txt slide over the original video, but even that would cause me some problems with the execution.

If anyone is willing and able to help, please post here with your ideas and tell me what you would be able to contribute.

The video would of course be posted on the channel of every collaborator, with due credit given everywhere.

Also, if people want, I could probably post snippets of the lyrics, or maybe even the entire lyrics, even with a link to the original song video, but I was hoping maybe it could be a bit of a surprise. That's just me being silly, I suppose. Let me know if you think I should post it.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help. :)

I love your Village People spoof :D

So, other songs... maybe something like this?

The Fools - Psycho Chicken

And this one doesn't even need new lyrics ;)

[Lilly Allen - Fuck You ]

Thanks for this. I love it. :D I even sent it to that homophobic bigot JilAdren.

My SO runs a karaoke night and could certainly get me the track sans lyrics. I don't quite have the right village-people voice to make it happen, but will do it if necessary. I might be able to recruit some other singers for it from my noodley network of associates even if they don't quite get the references.

That sounds most awesome. Whatever you end up doing.

Right now, it's just some lyrics on a forum, and that's no fun, so anything you manage to pull off will be a step forward and would be greatly appreciated. :)

I have acquired the karaoke track to YMCA. It does have some background vocals which fit of course the original lyrics on such parts as "young men!" and "YMCA". I'll see if I can remove the background vocal tracks, and barring that just try to overpower them with additional backup.

Overpower ftw!

Hehe, well, this sounds awesome. Just what we need. Thanks a lot for your work! :)
