A little help please, Mass Effect game

If anyone here played first part Mass Effect, I have a problem and could use some help. there is an elevator in Feros, it leads from the main building to the airway as they call it. once I complete the mission and try to get back using the same elevator an error pops out and turns the game off. there is no other way to get back and unfortunately this is an necessary mission, the story won't progress without it.

so basically if anybody has found a way to overcome this, let me know.

I had this problem on the my PC version (have it on xbox360 too).

Bioware put a fix for this in one of the patches. I can only suggest you update to the latest patch if you haven't already. I can't remember if I had to play through the whole mission again though for it to work

ya but unfortunately my game is not in English, which is twice as annoying because I could not find the appropriate patch, English won't do so I thought there may have been some other way around it. I guess I'll reinstall :?
