This may not be the first science and atheism forum i stumble upon, but it is the first one i chose to join; mainly because of the founders.

I would have a few suggestions for the staff and would like you to consider them:
Regarding the actual forum:

- first thing that pops out would be that annoying smiley; ( ) i assume it will be used greatly so changing it might prove useful

- secondly, please consider a green/ dark green theme for the forum - though blue also induces a state of calm and increases mind productivity, green help relax the user and helps him read better and relieves stress, perhaps coloring different sections of the forum according to the feeling you want the user to have.

- still on the aspect parts, i understand that the community has been founded by talented and productive youtube users, you should ask the help of the members in making the site much more attractive through the help of art, in that regard organizing wallpaper competitions and promotional art for the community would be great

- about the avatars, I've been a member of different torrent trackers and some of them provided a link to a web hosting site through which they uploaded and resized their avatars and signature pictures according to the regulations of the site - i used http://www.shrinkpictures.com this time it provides several options for resizing images - this would ease the uploading of different avatars

- perhaps specifying the gender of the user should be compulsory and the age always hidden , in debates and discussions users tend to not take seriously younger users.

- another suggestion relating to the forum would be to assign different titles to people that post in specified forum areas:
for example: User X (likes to post in the science section): - Young-ling
Student
Scholar
Igor
Scientist
Almost genius
Mad scientist etc.
You could make the distinctions using either posts, or thank you's from other users or both, (1000 posts/100 thank you's - 1 rank)
That would make people no-life a little more and increase the community also helping distinguish between the smart guys and the new ones.

- in the same category, allowing users to make powerful subgroups based on their beliefs, social background, interests and so on. Placing the name of the group below the name and avatar would be relevant.

About the forum activity and topics of discusion
(A lot to say here)
- since the League of Reason has a powerful name and the founding members have some influence when speaking of users, you should consider vastly extending the range of you discussions. Approaching topics with a far greater depth and range.
Besides religious and spiritual beliefs, astronomy and mathematics you should discuss about social organizations, economy, activism, environmental problems, education - schools and how to get in, cultures around the world, biology, psychology, pharmacology, social, Linux and world wide projects unrest and so much more (if you're interested i will post some more areas of interest)

- the community has very skilled video makers and considering in-formal education about different topics with the help of videos is in order, watching a video (especially those underlining the conclusion of a topic discuses by users is so much easier than reading the whole thing)

- Asking for the friendship, membership and help from other youtube users and users in general that are skilled in different areas of interest, web design, graphics etc. would be useful, if people can make an entire operating system on a global scale that competes with corporate powers such as microsoft and apple then i thing they can make a community for their own education provided that the league gathers enough momentum.

- Establishing partnerships with other communities that show intelligence and open mindedness - forums, torrent trackers, software sites, blogers, perhaps even the zeitgeist movement, artist communities, activism and social club sites and so on would provide the league with a great deal of users and help open the minds of hundreds of thousands. - a great way to make publicity (i have a few suggestions here)

i would be more than glad to help you in any way i can, and i am sure that others would to ...
if you find any of the suggestions above useful let me know and i will provide you with more ...
if i have offended and proved arrogant i apologize sincerely, I've become an atheist because of the Internet, threw away fear of supernatural things,I've learned so much and would like to give back to the world ...
