Masterpiece of cinema. The acting is astoundingly excellent. After countless viewings, it still remains one of the most stylish, disturbing and brilliant films I've ever seen. Who can hear "Singing in the Rain" after seeing this film and not remember Alex and his droogs in perhaps the most disturbing sequence in the film? I think that some people hate this movie because they don't understand why they empathize with Alex even though he is basically a sociopath devoid of human feeling. What's even worse is that today, some people might not even find it disturbing at all as they are used to seeing so much violence on TV and in mainstream movies. Malcolm McDowell's excellent charismatic performance contributes to the disturbing effect of the film. It doesn't really give any answers to the questions it poses about how society should deal with violent criminals, but how many films even pose the question?

It is good movie, everything has been done according to highest standarts.

What bothers me a bit is that to me its liberal teaching play, kind of B.Brechts late western counterpart.

I thought the Beethoven's 9th symphony was a perfectly placed bit of music.
As you say, Malcom's performance is exemplar and I really do sympathise with Alex, however much i'd hate him in real life.
I'd like to hear about the messages/morals you got from it. I've heard it has Illuminati references in it.
