The Gnostic Gospel of Phillip was unknown from the late antiquity through the middle ages. It was eventually discovered among the documents which resided in the Library of Nag Hammadi in Egypt. The gospel of Phillip is a mystical collection of reflections based on, previously known sermons of Jesus, tretises, and theological meditations. The five Christain sacraments in this Gnostic Gospel are, baptism, anointing, eurcharist, salvation, and the bride chamber. Theologians still debate on what the ancient writings were really talking about when the bridal chamber is talked about. Also in Phillip as in the other gospels that never made it into the final cannon, was the two different of levels of knowledge. The first level of knowledge was given to the immature outsiders, the regular Christians, or called the Hebrews. The Second and highest level of knowledge was given to the Gnostics or simply commonly known as the Gentiles.

Fascinating.

Does anyone have an English translation of the text? I'd be very interested in reading it.
