I read it here

http://www.voanews.com/content/obama_using_two_bibles_at_swearing_in/1587823.html

Does it seem asinine to anybody else that they use more than one?

I mean what is the purpose (is this correct)? Is the second Bible going to stop the school shootings? (guess not...) the fiscal cliff? the inocent civilian deaths by drone bombings?

Do the 2 bibles compund on each other? if that is the case does it make it Bible + Bible, or Bible * Bible, or better yet Bible ^ Bible?

I understand that the show is put on for the unending braindead american fanatic mases but are they so wrapped in the "'Murica! Fuck yeah!" attitude and culture that they don't get offended by such lowest common denominator pandering?

Or is there some other reason like a law stating that 2 Bibles are needed to do away with unholy specters that might adversly affect (is this correct) Obama's judgment?

As always any and all opinions are appreciated

Ed.

He actually used three. He used the bible Washington used (if I am not mistaken) when he took the oath. The second one was the one Lincoln used when he was sworn in, and the final one was Dr. King Jr's. personal bible. He did it to honor their memories, not to magically stop any pandemonium going on.

To be honest, if I ever became president (not likely) I would not mind using Washington's bible to take the oath. That thing is a piece of history.

That is interesting. I thought you would have chosen the Jefferson Bible.
