1 Year without the internet

arg-fallbackName="australopithecus"/>
Too much of my education, work and social life is interconnected online that it's just unfeasible to be able to cut off the net, and thinking about it it's quite sad, but then that's what the net is there for. That, and weird porn.

There, I fixed it for you. ;)

I wouldn't be able to do my banking or get my bills without internet now.
all companies here charge beaucoup extra if you want paper bills delivered to your mail box

I could do it under the right circumstances.

I couldn't just decide to unplug my router because I'd be back online within a 5 minutes, but if I was staying in a hut in the forest (I'm not sure why I'd ever do that) then I'd be able to go without it.

I already live in a hut in the forest *LOL*
Ok so maybe a bit bigger than a hut (small house)

Bill paying and bank account monitoring alone make the Internet required for my lifestyle. Add in shopping, and it is almost a slam-dunk.

Plus, what would you people do without me?

Somebody reads my blog?
Oui, c'est vrai.
you must be able to tell by the logs that someone from western canada reads it, that little side bar thing tracking thing always shows up with my home town on it

Yeah, but I always assume it is someone reading my post about big asses.

BTW, if you look up "Chuck Norris Batshit Crazy" see what comes up first or close to it. :)

Oh, that's an old entry, I hadn't read back that far
The older stuff is actually more interesting. I did a really long piece on atheism and knowledge a couple of years ago that should be required reading for everyone, not just the 6 people who read my blog.

1 year without the net? I suppose I could do it but the question is why should I? It's like saying that I'll go 1 year without my glasses. Sure I can do it but why would I? I'm half blind without them (I'm about -6D, if anyone knows what that is) and they make my life a lot easier. Same with the net, I could do without it but there is no logical reason why I should.
