Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

Sarcastically reporting someone isn't really reporting. It's love.

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

The Occupy Wall Street protestors have now issued a declaration and a manifesto listing it's objectives. Now it's less "bunch of hippies whining about stuff" and more like a movement with a purpose. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/occupy-wall-street-declaration-york-protesters/story?id=14656653

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

I don't see how that explains anything either. And I'm tired of this as well. So how about those protests, eh?

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

This is the very reason why I asked Welsh to explain his post. Twice.

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

Anyway, I don't want this crapfest to derail this thread so here's an article on the Occupy protests and it's presence on the internet: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/04/us-wallstreet-protests-media-idUSTRE79377W20111004

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

Prolescum you're clearly holding a grudge from our past disagreements since you had to resort to silly claims about me. Legendary huh? Anyway, sarcasm or not, Welsh presented an exaggerated viewpoint of Ken's (i.e. civil rights atrocities) in order to argue against it and ridicule it. That's a...

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

It's sarcasm therefore it's not misrepresentation? Wow, that's just dishonest.

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

No, not looking for an argument but since I'm not going to get any explanation from you except more sidestepping, I'll just let it end right here.

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

Um okay. Care to explain what the hell was your mocking post about then? Why did you sarcastically bring up the civil rights protests if not to mock others and to strawman then? Now it's my turn to ask you what your point was. I mean, you're accusing people of incorrectly accusing you of...

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

I have no idea what you're going on with your "empty can" claim nor do I know what it is but I do know that what you did was strawman when you made it sound like people were making this sound worse than what happened to folks in some civil rights protests. I'm not looking for a fight here but I...

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

Definitely not as serious as the civil rights protests but then again, I didn't see anyone make that comparison except you in the previous post. I still think it's a serious issue though.

Protest in NY: "Occupy Wall Street"

Gah, how the hell did I miss all of this? I would have done my best to spread word about the event. And I disagree with Prolescum's self righteous rant. I mean geez, he's afraid that protesting could very much lead the movement to turning into another Tea Bagging Party so why bother, people are...

What's worth sacrificing to win "the Culture War?"

Well, most of the key issues in the "culture wars" (man I hate that term) like creationism in public schools, separation of church and state disputes, abortion, etc etc. have pretty much have had the courts deciding against what the fundies have wanted. I don't see the trend changing anytime...

What's worth sacrificing to win "the Culture War?"

It depends on who is losing this "war". To the losing side, getting rid of judicial review is worth it. Or maybe it doesn't matter who is losing, the fact is that as you pointed out, the courts tend not to be on the side of the hardcore christians so it's probably worth it to those extremists...
