having played every single final fantasy (well I-IX) i know very well that FF7 was very overrated, as is sephiroth. a better villain would be Kuja from FF9, not only is he cooler looking than sephiroth, he also has emotions and a heart as well as just the brutal nature that sephiroth had

I respectfully disagree. I have played through FF VII, VIII, IX, X and X-2, and also played a few hours in I, II, V, VI, X and XII. As well as Crisis Core.

I might not have played all of them, but I think FFVII is absoloutly great. From what I have seen I think FFVII is clearly the best for it's time, and I also think FFX was pretty good. FF IX dissapointed me to be completely honest.

You can call FFVII overrated, and it might be. But not for me, I loved it, and I still love it. And yes, Sephiroth might be a bit shallow, but I think his character is great, and I think he is a great villain.

And yes, Sephiroth might be a bit shallow, but I think his character is great, and I think he is a great villain.

The cool thing about Sephiroth was that you went on an emotional ride with him, as well as with the protagonists, which is incredibly difficult to pull off properly.

As lame as it is that it's from WoW I'd have to say my favorite villain is probably The Lich King aka Prince Arthas. Not only is he incredibly powerful (in the lore obviously) he's composed of 2 beings formed at the level of the soul.
