YECs have changed? But not by much....

Oh this might be a good place to ask. We've all heard of the 6000 year old YEC's, but more recently when I come across a YEC and I ask if they think it's 6000 years old they will respond with laughter followed by, "Don't be so silly...there's no evidence for that....it's clearly 10,000 years old..."

That's like agreeing not to stab my new born baby to death but to decapitate it instead, yea its better, but it's still shit and I'm gonna slap you for thinking about it.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this and knows the reason for the 4000 year jump?

I haven't heard this myself, what's the reasoning for such a jump...?

Oh wait, reasoning? xD

I suspect this is just a shift, so that less evidence can prove them wrong. By expanding their date they can incorporate virtually all of human history into their timeframe. It's just like how they all accept 'microevolution' now, because there's only so much denial you can get out of a pair of rose tinted spectacles. They'll eventually end up accepting all of evolutions mechanism, except for the name "Evolution" which they will viciously oppose, and maintain that we're stuck in our hideously limiting world-view (I hate that word) for not realising the obvious strength of their position.
