White Noise Analogy

Have you ever heard of the analogy of white noise (typically found in Electrical Engineering circles) and the typical descriptions one would encounter when talking to a believer about their specific god.

For those of you that don't know about the phenomenon of White Noise (for those of you that might be a tad bit oversensitive, it has nothing do with racial issues) in electrical engineering, it's basically the portion of a signal that is produced with randomness (like gossip perhaps) around some fixed carrier frequency (one individual spreading some nasty ass rumors). Here I would state that the fixed carrier signal (god or words or concepts that are used to describe a characteristic of god) are used to describe things with no REAL usable message. I mean we may glen a small bit of insight from this "White Noise" but it appears that the REAL signal is being drowned out for some reason. One could also apply the Electrical Engineering concept of attempting to FILTER (Take your pick.... Low Pass Filter, High Pass Filter, Bandpass Filter, or one of my personal favorites the NOTCH or Band Reject Filter) out the "White Noise" in order to achieve something closer to a truth or REAL and USABLE signal.

Just my quick thoughts on the subject....... What do you think? An analogy that is worth expanding into a book or something?

Not exactly the same concept but close enough, I suppose.

I mean I could probably imagine coming up with a few concepts related to Gaussian White Noise..... Or something to that effect.

I is very familiar, this does not only apply to religion but to everything else. I postulate that the inability of people to understand noise (just generically noise, not necessarilly white or colored) for what it is, is the primary reason why people are wrong. Either it be religion, homeopathy, quackery, new age stuff, you name it. Everywhere there is an experience of something there is noise, it affects absolutly everything (really, you have seen it, heard it, felt it, tasted it all your life and you didn't even knew it was there), you can tone it down but never remove it.

Ps. It would be suficient to explain that the white noise refers to the intensity across the spectrum of frequency of that noise:
White: uniform across all spectrum, like white is the combination of all colors that you can see.
Colored: it has a preferential band of frequencies, like the color red has a specific frequency in the visual spectrum.

Yeah, perhaps it would be a better idea to expand the thought and not just limit the concept to religion. I mean instead of Atheist one could probably properly use the term Skeptic here.
