UK to legalise medical cannabis

I saw this on the news last night. There was a story about a child/teen who was having 100+ seizures a day (can't remember what the underlying condition was) and they obtained a special license to use a cannabis derived compound as medicine. They say the child hasn't had a single seizure since.

I haven't spent a huge amount of time thinking about this, but my initial reaction is that if it helps certain conditions then I see no reason to oppose it.
