TheModestAgnostic and the "Singularity Foundation"

I subscribed to Youtube user "TheModestAgnostic" quite a while ago now, because I liked the videos he was putting up at the time. Since then however, he seems to have made a load of videos about the "Singularity Foundation", which supposedly can let you transfer your consciousness into the future, based around the concept of a technological singularity.
Whilst I don't have a problem with the idea, it seems that the Singularity Foundation is a bit of a con. I his latest video, found here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg4mT9ntVo8 he explains how to upload your co-ordinates so that you can have your consciousness uploaded into the future via mini-wormholes or something. I noticed that the website shown in the video says something about a "payment method".
I don't know about you guys, but this "Singularity Foundation" sounds highly cult-like. Giving pseudoscientific explanations for things that will supposedly happen, whilst at the same time requiring payment for whatever "services" they claim to provide.

I'd say it's a joke or parody of religion or something. The website is this:

Some selected quotes:
Can the Singularity Foundation Fail?

Yes. Absolutely. We are a mere human institution. Insufficient funds, the total collapse of human society through war or disease, or unforseen legal challenges could destroy the Singularity Foundation at any point. As is the case with any other man made entity, so it is with the Singularity Foundation.
Is the Singularity Foundation a Church?

While the Singularity Foundation is not a church or religion, we recognise the value and time tested mechanisms that religions have used, to great effect, to promote their message. We are certainly not averse to using what works to spread our message. Thus, we unashamedly use the language of religion to explain ourselves, because it is familiar, and contains many of the concepts and memes we discuss in pre-digested and handily packaged form.

However, the Singularity Foundation is a business, not a church. We have no metaphysical pretentions to hidden knowledge, we claim no hotlines to supernatural (or extraterrestrial) entities, and we charge. As far as we know, this world, this universe, and its relentless efforts to consign us to everlasting extinction, is all there is. But, we could be wrong.
Is this even legal?

We think so, but given the 200+ jurisdictions that clutter our little planet, it's possible someone, somewhere might take exception. It is our view that if religions can offer you Eternal Life without so much as a shred of evidence, we ought to be able to offer it on the more robust basis of a technological solution which can at the very least, be discussed meaningfully.
Is this a Scam or Con?

Yes, it is. In so far as the founders can guarantee you anything. However, it differs from classical or "legacy religions" (and scams in general)
in that the path to "salvation" has a technological component which doesn't violate any known laws of physics and which we are actively trying to bring into existence. We can explain the required technologies, and even though these don't currently exist, they certainly could one day.

All of them are in the FAQ section...

Thanks for the link, I've really enjoyed reading their stuff :) If there is someone who wants to give them some money (and the money would be far less than what say Scientology asks, http://www.singularityfoundation.com/costs/ ) certainly is their problem; nowhere they say that the technology is readily available (it's not!!), and indeed define the whole issue as a gamble.
