The Question(s)

During election season, I often get the opportunity to talk to my local politicians, and I have a relatively simple pair of questions that can gauge their rationality with reasonable ease:

"Do you understand evolutionary theory? Do you believe that evolution occurs?"

Now, this is a bit of a trick query pair - and in my estimation, there is only one correct set of answers. The reason it's a trick question is that the latter question does not mention theory, just process. Someone who is cursorily versed in the theory will know that the process is not the theory, and that it is fact that the process occurs. This question acts as a test of the first response in the event that the first response is "yes", and acts as a test of their response to uncertainty in the event that the first response is "no". Their religious beliefs, then, become irrelevant unless they interfere with their reasoning.

I will list the possibilities:

No, no - you have made an assertion without having been informed. Vote denied.
No, yes - you have made an assertion without having been informed. Vote denied.
No, I don't know (without qualification) - Hey, good rational mind - but given the fact that the issue has been in the news, I estimate that you are not sufficiently inquisitive to find useful solutions to political issues. Vote denied.
Yes, no - you have made a false assertion knowing that it is false. Vote denied.
Yes, I don't know - you have lied about your knowledge. Vote denied.
Yes, yes - Yay! you have a vote!

Is this biased? Only by the reality in which I exist.
