Text Transcriptions of videos made by people of this forum

I,´ve seen in youtube some very good videos made by people of this forum, but I,´m spanish-talker and it,´s very difficult for me to understand spoken English (while reading is much easier). I guess that text transcriptions would be useful for other reasons too: they would allow to make translations to other languages (in order to allow non-english-speakers understand them), and they would also be useful for deaf people.

There is often an "Interactive Transcript" beside the description bar that automatically makes a transcript of the video and flashes words up as they are spoken.
As an example, here's one of mine (sneaky self-promotion :twisted: ). Note that to the right side of the description bar there is a box with a piece of paper on it. Click it and a transcript will show.
I also included a transcript in the description bar for that video, but that was before the interactive transcript existed.

Hope that helps a bit, though I'm not sure how this is a suggestion for the League of Reason since it's dependent on the individual preferences of each video maker.

Ah, I see. I thought you were referring to videos by people on the forum in general.

The LeageOfReasonTV channel is run by AndromedasWake, I think (AW or Sporky please correct me if I'm wrong). It was used to put up segments from the League Of Reason show which was on the BlogTV website every two weeks until recently.


If we're referring specifically to that channel, then yes, I support what you're suggesting. It's really easy to get youtube to make a machine transcript of a video. It's not always absolutely accurate, but I think it would be a good idea if it can allow people who speak other languages to watch more easily.
