Inteligent Design advocates on the Texas Board of Education put language in their bylaws to permit the possiblity of teaching the age of the universe from the christian bible. Or anything else really.

You know what? I think they should change the Texas chemistry books to include alchemy, because there are other theories out there. Why should we only teach the overwhelmingly proven and agreed upon theory or model? We need to be fair when teaching. Actually, let us revamp the whole teaching process. We should not have textbooks which include the best science to date from the academic community, but rather any science from any community.

Teach the controversy we just made up and does not even exist in the academic community!
