Yesterday, I was linked to this website in the LoR chat:

http://www.stopdoingcancer.com/

This website is about a man who decided he could cure an aggressive bladder cancer 'naturally' without the doctor's surgery and 'poisons'. This cretin thought he could cure his cancer using a Dr. Robert Young's Ph miracle... a 'theory' that diseases are brought on by in imbalance of the body's Ph levels...

Lets humour Dr. Robert young, and take a closer look at this. The 'theory' states:
all disease stems from an over-acidification of our tissues and fluids and that we can prevent (and reverse most) disease by living alkalizing lifestyles.

I was very weary of this firstly because it sounds like one of those scams... And surely enough, I took a good look at his website:

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/default.aspx

I shit you not there you will find a host of products, numbering into their thousands, from his own brand of water, food, 'Phorse power formula', water ionising equipment, condiments, massage oils, kitchen utensils, suppilents and even a couple of childrens products which he has attempted to make a cartoon character 'doc broc' and all for a price.

I did a bit more research on this guy (I looked at Wikipedia... I'm 16, what do you expect -.-) turns out he has two legal issues under his belt, the first, he 'analysed' two woman's blood and told the they were sick and sold them herbal products, the second, he convinced a woman to stop chemotherapy in exchange for his cancer treatments - a liquid diet, or his special brand of liquid diet....

You will probably be glad to hear, that the guy who made 'stop doing cancer' stopped his 'natural' treatment because the tumours in his bladder started bleeding, he was admitted to hospital with a critical haemoglobin level. After a lot of blood transfusions, the worry the he might have to have his bladder removed, surgery to stop the bleeding and radiotherapy he made a full recovery, THANKS TO MEDICAL SCIENCE! And he still has the fucking cheek to say after all that 'he had been forced to take the medical route' and 'he wished there was a natural solution to bleeding tumours' Well, there is, its called death.

Is it just me or are humans that stupid, perhaps evolution really does exist, all the week minded are falling for these 'natural cures' and or just dying off while the strong minded are not? Just a thought...

Morale of the story; don't be a retard and think you can be 'better' and 'more natural' than medical science. Its the best we have take it or die. Oh and don't fall for stupid scams, that think behind your eyes, its called a brain, use it he didn't and nearly died, hint mother fucking hint.

P.s There both Christians, and I know that at least one of them is a creationist.

You can always tell a fraud when they claim that "all disease is caused by X, therefore the only treatment you need is Y."

While fighting against general stupidity I've ended up in several strange forums. As a result I've been hearing of a plethora of cancer "cures" ranging from flax seed oil (based on studies of flax seed extract) to laetrile aka "B17".

It amazes me how the advocates of this crap think. Some small studies had shown that Flax seed extract could have a small effect on slowing the growth of cancer (slightly better than negligible results) and suddenly people are selling flax seed oil and claiming that it cures cancer?

"B17"/laetrile advocates insisting not only that B17 is a legit vitamin but also insisting that there's some huge conspiracy to cover it up.. They talk about how much better it is than poisoning a person with chemo... regardless of the fact that laetrile is predominantly Cyanide! The side effects are the same as cyanide poisoning, how strange eh?

The logic of these people amazes me, but at the end of the day I write it all off as natural selection at work.. even if it's not worthy of the Darwin awards.

I can't really judge the cancer patients falling for these things; who might be desperately looking for any cure they haven't yet tried, especially when traditional treatment is ineffectual. However, those who are taking advantage of them are monsters.

People with horrible diseases are particularly vulnerable to exploitation, given their desperation for a cure. This is understandable. Nevertheless, it really is staggering what some people are willing to believe, even under normal circumstances.
However, those who are taking advantage of them are monsters.

Sometimes you have well-meaning idiots who genuinely believe they are helping others. But yes, those who deliberately exploit the weak and vulnerable are beyond contempt.

A "guru" told me ones that he heard on TV the "real truth" bout cancer told by a doctor but they deny it after:

ALL CANCER COMES FROM TAKING TOO MUCH MEDICINE

can you believe that crap??? Of course he was "curing" people by magic so...

I told him what about Egyptian mummies found with traces of cancer? Even dinosaurs found with bone cancer traces? He answered "it's just made up stories, never heard of that!". I guess faith is blind again... Can someone get here some new glasses???

They should just drink bleach.

Not bleach, Juice. Mystical, healing juice made from the most natural of all sources; potash

Well I don't know about ALL disease but I do know that chugging a half bottle of lemon juice will do more for a cold than eating a whole gram of vitamin C, which is still pretty effective. The only reason I tried the juice is because my GF was following that same "PH" philosophy. I know, I know, purely anecdotal but it works for me.
