South American Tribe Deconverts Christian Missionary to Athe

I read a little more about him... his deconversion seems to have cost him his family. It seems a small price to me, but I am a lifelong atheist who has lost a woman over my lack of faith, so I am sympathetic but not too much.

That's stated in the video narration as well. Seems to imply that part of the damage was a result of how long it took him to reveal his "deconversion" to those around him, understandable since he was being paid to translate the New Testament into the Piraha language by a missionary group, when his actual rejection of Religion took place (in his mid-to-late-20s).
