Social consequences of the Theory of Evolution

What is the point of coming here and pasting a wall of inane bullshit? I've watched Otangelo do this for well over a decade now across dozens of venues. I can count the number of attempts he's made at good faith discourse in all that time on one hand and have enough fingers left to pick both nostrils. Said activity would produce similar value to his walls of text. Nobody cares. One might think after YEARS of doing it he'd figure out it's both ineffective and just plain fucking annoying.

Otangelo is a troll. From a moderation point of view, he's only been requested (and then subsequently told) not to post reams of copy paste from his own website, or indeed reams of copy paste from any website. He's been told that where relevant and on-topic, excerpts are fine but spamming and flooding are not. He keeps doing it, and we keep sending him on vacation for progressively longer periods as rewards for ignoring the only request that's been made of him.

Doubtless any further 'participation' from him will be more of the same, because he sees ensuring he gets suspended and/or banned as a somehow worthwhile endeavor. Perplexing as this is, he thinks it's clever.

Greetings,

Rationalist/Otangelo, you mentioned naturalism in a negative light, as not providing any moral compass.

I suggest you peruse Naturalism.org - it not only discusses philosophical, as well as methodological, naturalism but also discusses spirituality in a naturalistic context.

Also, read Reading Genesis after Darwin - again, you'll find a number of common misconceptions are addressed.

You may also find D. S. Wilson's Evolution for Everyone: How Darwin's Theory Can Change the Way We Think about Our Lives enlightening about how an understanding of evolution can change people's attitudes to life, etc.

Kindest regards,

James

Social consequences of the Theory of Evolution

[snip vacuous crap...]

Even supposing all this were true (it isn't, as even a cursory scan of history will tell you), my question to you would be this:

So what?

Does this have any bearing on whether evolution occurs or whether the theory of evolution is a good model of its workings?

I don't even have to read your post to debunk it, because the title alone is sufficient material to work with to show that you aren't going to get from here to there with any rigour.

It's been said in the past that it wouldn't matter if Darwin himself supported eugenics, or routinely ate babies. None of that has any bearing on the fact that evolution occurs and the theory of evolution is a solid model of how it works.

Hack, you'd never guess who that is, by the way! :)

Same flunked arguments 10 years later: Jireh! lol

Hahahaha! My number two fan!

I suppose I should have spotted it. I've been out of the game too long, it seems and I didn't actually read the post for content, because it's clear that he has nothing other than accusations about people that have exactly nothing to do with the veracity of evolution.

Hey, it's my first day out. Need some time to slide back into the old cardigan and slippers. :D
