Schrödinger's cat

Fedoraproject started picking strange release code-names for Fedora. Beefy Miracle, Spherical Cow.

Fedora 19 is scheduled for release in June. This time they might've overcooked it, though. The release code-name is Schrödinger's cat and it, namely the apostrophe, caused problems in bug reporting tool.

Here's an article describing the problem, some background and possible solutions.

Facepalms en masse.

I'm a Debian chap, so I laugh at the problems of Red Hat. That said, I'm also a GNOME fellow, so I do pay attention.

I recall a year or so ago, Fedora spent a fair bit of time slapping their own backs and prominently displaying their achievement in increasing the rendering speed of jpgs. Like the above story, of course it matters, but it's so dumb a thing to get worked up about...

Also, Schrödinger's cat? Peas and rice

Well, at least they don't use toy names for their releases :p

Ha! True, although beefy miracle sounds suspiciously like something one might buy in an Amsterdam sex shop.

"I hope you brought a Red Hat cause I'm about to install my Beefy Miracle onto your Solid State Drive, baby."
