i'm just afraid some fundy group will come along and try to have the constitution changed.

Surely that would infringe on a human rights/equal treatment clause?

Fifty-four percent of adults questioned in an April 23-26 nationwide CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll said that marriages between gay or lesbian couples should not be recognized as valid, while 44 percent said they should be considered legal.

I just can't belive how this can be true... are people really this messed up in the head?

They've done it in Tennessee, California, LA, and a few other states. Somehow people's opinions are considered more important than human rights. See, when black people were getting screwed, it didn't matter that about half the U.S. citizens thought they should not have the same rights. The government still stepped in and fixed the damn situation. This situation is more about the Bible and so people are pissing all over each other to ban same sex marriage.

Don't forget, the American South didn't desegregate until Brown v The Board of Education deemed segregation created a state of inferiority. That was only 50 some years ago.

I can't wait until this issue is finally over and I can hear the damn NOM's say: Wow, this storm really isn't so bad... more of a cool breeze really. They didn't break into my house and force me to marry a man/goat after all. Guess there really wasn't much to fear at all.

Ah well that won't happen, but at least gay marriage will be legal everywhere (though it has been here for years, Gogo Massachusetts.
