lmao , As a kid I was always weary about this for some reason its a pretty common number in video games.It amazes me that no fundamentalist have picked up and acted on it.It would probably scare a lot of people.

The max combo is " 666 " the devils number or something like that. Its on the left near the bottom.

666 is the number of the beast. But some texts found from around 400 a.d. indicated that earlier transcripts of the revelation used 616 as the number of the beast. Not sure about all the details, but I'm pretty sure I read it all on wikipedia, so it can probably be found there. A good example of how the bible exist in so many different and contradicting versions.

When you do the stats you find that the number 666 arises no more often than 665 or 668 or whatever in most games. Like with all things we read patterns of meaning into things and selectively remember those patterns of meaning. Its a very powerful effect that is behind most religious pattern recognition that makes people believe God is acting in the world around them.

I know none of us think it has significance... Lots of fundamentalists DO use this stuff though - hell I think the numbers 6-6-6 were the pick 3 daily in illinois on the day of the election or some other significant day. I saw no end of discussion about THAT.

Yeah this is true, and really I'm not sure why it wasn't carried forward, but some think that 666 and 616 are code for Nero (the sum total of their letter's numerical values).

I laugh every time I hit 666 in some game because I always point it out to my friend's and they always go "So...?" It just sticks in the back of your mind unfortunately.
