Quite amazing, in more ways than one, I should think; and thus it would be helpful to gather some opinions on this (though I doubt there will be significant disagreement).

I don't think it is anything more or less than a sell-out to coastal developers who want to build on unstable property without having to reinforce the foundations or pay higher insurance rates, or disclose to investors that the properties could be undermined by rising sea levels much sooner than their fixed projections assert.

Thankfully for us, North-Carolina lawmakers can only gratify this particular brand of retrogressive science-denialism for so long, it seems. As their neighbouring U. S. states begin taking measures to account for the anticipated near-future sea-level rise, North Carolina will , in all probability , buckle to "pier" pressure (in a manner of speaking), and wake up to smell the sea air in not too long from now. Indeed, only last week,New Jersey opened a new $400-million bridge; the Route-52 Somers Point Cause-way, that was purpose-built with (very) high piers to accommodate for the predicted sea-level rise over the course of the 21[sup]st[/sup] century . . .

Fail hyperbole is fail, I've seen enough of that browsing Youtube and neocon website comment sections. At best, inane, at worst, a stupid contribution better off being kept to a chat room. Anything you want to share that's actually relevant? Maybe a joke that's actually funny.

This is about a group of idiot politicians trying to pass a bill that restricts the authority of government bodies under their state's jurisdiction, not outlawing the actual act of expressing a want for climate change preparations. Any variety of stupid bills can be submitted to legislators, it doesn't mean they're getting passed, which is often a lengthy and difficult process to make happen even for insignificant bills.
