Basically, it's a mod for Oblivion under development and set in Middle Earth and it looks fucking epic. It's only in Beta at the moment, but the completed mod will have lots of quests, a main quest based around the books, mounted combat and a hell of a lot more. To give justification for my excitement at discovering this existed, here's a link to the beta download and a trailer:

Apparently, even though the beta misses out loads of areas (nothing East of Mirkwood, no Lorien, Harad, Rhun etc), it is still 7 times larger than the map of vanilla Oblivion.

Holy monkey teeth :D Looks great, and the character faces don't look like they were beaten severely with the ugly stick :D

This might be worth installing Oblivion for. That game is such shit on its own lol.
I'm not sure if that's good or bad :?

It's true out-of-the-box oblivion is a terrible game-play experience, but installing a few simple mods fixes it completely.

Ya I have the game tucked away in a box in my room. I tried it out of the box and was really disappointed, I didn't bother looking for mods. I came back to it a couple more times - for the most part I quite enjoy all my games, and try to go through and play ones that are underplayed. I've just never been able to get in to it.

This, however, looks totally worth installing it for.

But I have to finish playing Dragon Age Origins, which I just picked up...

I tried to get it to work, but I think I have to many mods. It won't even start sadly.

The trailer said "August XX", that's August 20, probably August 2020. ;)
