I just got this ad on Facebook: Magnetic Therapy Experience

Q: Are your magnets north facing?
A: Yes they are. Always use the north facing magnets for their acid reducing qualities.
Of all the bullshit on their website, that really took the cake.

Now as far as I'm aware Magnetic Therapy has little to no scientific research supporting it, but then I came across this:
Magnet Therapy Gets Boost from Real Study
This sounds to me like if this effect could be reproduced in humans, it could actually be possible to design a magnetic therapy that actually works. Can somebody else more qualified than I comment?

If magnets worked to heal pain, then you would have to be an idiot to fork out loads of cash for specialist products. Surely some duct tape and fridge magnets would do? Or just standing next to some large speakers for a while?
