I have no idea if this is correct, but it's fabulous fun to think it might be, for some very very sad personal reason ..............
And not just your common-or-garden smut. According to this report it has been top-dog in searches per-person for "horse sex" since 2004; "donkey sex" since 2007; "rape pictures" between 2004 and 2009; "rape sex" since 2004 and "child sex" between 2004 and 2007. "Animal sex" and "dog sex" searches are pretty damn popular too in "The Land of The Pure", as Pakistan likes to think of itself.

Pakistan has been top-dog in searches per-person for "horse sex" since 2004

The country also is tops , or has been No. 1, in searches for "camel sex," "rape video," "child sex video" and some other searches that Fox News was too coy to print.

Sounds about right. I'm guessing that Pakistan is sort of late to the Internet party, and now they're playing catch-up. I doubt it means anything specifically negative about their culture. I remember back in the 1990s when pictures first became available on the Internet, and it became a competition to see who could find the most perverse, grotesque pictures possible. Then we would print the pictures, and tape them around campus, like over the urinals, inside bathroom stall doors, and on vending machines.

Pakistan is now officially a fucked-up college kid... Congratulations Pakistan!

I think you are quite probably correct. I remember when the Body Modification E-Zine (for just one example) used to have it's galleries publicly available. I even know a businessman in the town I used to live in, who posted a link to video of a man hammering nails through his testicles to one of his suppliers, and telling them that's what they could expect if they didn't ship the parts he had ordered by a particular date.

Pull a stunt like that today and the cops would turn up.

As ImprobableJoe said, when something first becomes available you try to exploit it to the extreme. Maybe they only recently discovered that there is, in fact, porn on the interwebs, and they want to share the hilarity with each other. Or, maybe living in a depressing, economically shattered wasteland lends its power to allowing certain regional fetishes to arise (Im looking at you, camel sex).

Either way, Im sure one of two things are most likely to occur from this: Either the novelty will wear off and they will return to normal searches such as "blow up mosque how to" and "funny infadel pictures", or their government will see this information and declare it a conspiracy of the western world to make them look bad (until the day they leave their camel porn folder open during a meeting with some heads of state).

I can't believe that after 5 days on the boards, I'm the first person to point out that "camel sex" is probably more likely a farm stock inquiry than it is about any kind of fetish... Seems like the other search queries are far more disturbing anyhow...

I agree, I bet they were just interested in how to determine the gender of their camels. After all, it wouldn't be halal to unknowingly enter into a homosexual relationship would it?
