Cute. I remember building a far more impressive crane than that with the French friend I mentioned in the other thread and his HUGE stash of technical Lego.

I can remember getting infuriated with my lego, I would spend ages building a really cool spaceship with all red bricks, then I would gradually get more and more annoyed as I had run out of red bricks of the right size, eventually smashing my creation in a violent rage.

That was about 90% of my lego endeavors. Mostly cities, though, and sometimes I was playing "Armageddon", so the smashing was part of the operation.
