Lab equipment

Greetings!

This might be a little silly, but what's the quality control system for the lab equipment? Marine microbiology in my case. What I mean is that if I (as say, a university) am buying the equipment, and I want some good equipment, why would I not go for the cheaper options that don't necessarily advertise themselves as well as more popular brands? Picture "chinese" quality.

I couldn't find any feedback on virtually any laboratory product out there, is there any? If not, what would I us as a substitute?

Thanks.

All lab equipment are graded and certified according to their quality, if it isn't you have good reasons to be suspicious.
Cheaper almost always means less accurate, but you got to know the quality you need before venturing in trying to buy them.

Right, if somebody cares about this, all that I could gather was that you should check their costumer service. If they replace your stuff if it doesn't work or breaks soon, help you fix it and else, they care about the quality.

Few if any of us are lab scientists, so what are we to tell you? Surely your Uni Profs will know something.
If it were related to Medicine, I could help. As it is...
