I like magic and do a little (purely supernatural of course – what else is there). Perhaps this thread or a series of them can look at such topics. It could be discussing individual magicians or tricks or the ethics involved. You may have seen a totally inexplicable illusion or trick or believe that some magicians have formed a pact with the devil. I don’t think it would be appropriate to blatantly reveal secrets or be tempted to do so by anyone challenging you or claiming you don’t know (and Youtube etc. has largely spoiled that anyway). Or perhaps you find it hard to decipher the line between trickery and something really happening (e.g. David Blaine’s, ‘drowned valive‘ or, ‘starving/above the below’ or, ‘body piercing’ or, ‘regurgitating’ stunts). Or why not just share or link the best trick you’ve ever seen or some of them. If there is a lot of interest, we can split into topics or people or whatever is appropriate.
There are Youtubers who claim that real magic exists and they present footage (from Cyril, David Blaine, Derren Brown, David Copperfield, Dynamo, Criss Angel and many other less known ones) and try to argue that it cannot be done naturally. Not sure how anyone can show that, but I am open to seeing something that fits that category.
I attach two videos from people who are sceptical of magic being natural and they present their evidence by showing some good stuff, some of which I would present as good magic anyway, so see what you think. Kill 2 birds with one stone by enjoying illusions and seeing how super-naturalists see them. Notice the similarity of arguments (and laziness and closed mindedness and lack of ability or willingness to use search engines) with many theists and crerationists and other conspirators.
