Great Video it was nice to hear someone speak so reasonably and bluntly about such a sensitive issue
Stupid that the politicians perrogative is always to just give voters what they want as opposed to actually making progressive changes It seems to me a shame that people like this woman speaking cannot be the same ones in power. the best person suited to lead is the person who wants that power and responsibilty the least however.

Well, but you can literally hear people whining about "my tax dollars being spend on good for nothing drug addicts who are all to blame themselves"

Pretty much, followed by "hey they are criminals and sinners, they deserve whatever they get"

I know a high-ranking member of a religious organization and they were telling me about how they hired a cultural anthropologist to sit in on their meetings with other ranking members to try to understand where things were being miscommunicated. The anthropologist reported back on a number of things, including the fact that they noticed a very strong sickness = sin correlation in the dialogue. I have always found that interesting, though not surprising.
