I suppose I uesd to be Christian once upon a time now I don't believe in anything, I wouldn't call myself an atheist though, I don't believe in labels.

I'm quite shy when I don't know people that well so I probably won't write much for a while but once I start talking I can't stop.

I joined league of reason because I really heart ZOMGitscriss and saw her advertising it and thought why not join.

I'm have mild interest in pretty much anything and sometimes I exhibit more interest or less depending on my mood and I have lots of opinions :)

Hi!

You should go ahead and pick a label though... if you don't, other people will do it for you and you might not be happy with the result. ;)

Sup!

Yeah, I remember when I was shy of labels -- especially "atheist". Such a negative connotation. What would people think of me? I got over it quick. Plus It think it makes some people more open after you clarify your position as an atheist. They tend to drop the mentality that you're a raping, pillaging, immoral, baby eating, agent of satan, when you show them that you actually just make logical arguments for your position.

If you mean that I make no logical arguments for the atheist position. I guess you're right. Stabbing my opponents in the face repeatedly and then devouring their corpse in public doesn't really count as a logical argument. :p

In all seriousness though, I have run into some people who ultimately agree that they have no evidence for god and admit that they can see how evidence (or rather the lack of) favors my position. They retreat to the position that faith is required, and leave it at that. That's only very few people I've run into though, and you cut off my quote where I say this was only some people.

As for how the OP should take this, I think it would be better to potentially change some people's attitudes toward atheists rather than dodge it and not change anyone's opinions at all, but I'm not the boss of him/her. There's no law about about how to exercise your disbelief.

I don't mind if people want to label me but I'm not going to do it myself, I like to think of myself as nothing just me.

I don't think of myself as an Atheist but I guess I am...

Thanks for the replies as I'm new the forum :)

You could always label yourself "labelless".

Welcome aboard! :)

Also, chatroom, cake, and ninjas.

@Gnug215 'Labelless' sounds like a good label whenever I say I'm nothing, the reply I get is 'how can you be nothing?!'

Your picture is cute :)
