I'm teaching myself both of these instruments and was wondering if anyone has a few websites that offer good lessons on them?

I started playing piano when I was about 7, and I found it VERY important to learn music theory. Without a background in music, reading sheet music can be extremely difficult and tedious. It might be a good idea to consult someone, maybe a friend you might have, who has a good understanding of theory. I play a lot of classical (piano and guitar) so it does get very technical. If you're just going for some newer pop or some blues, theory comes in handy but I don't think it is 100% necessary. Having a good ear really helps, especially on guitar. I really don't know anything about reading music on guitar, but learning how to read tabulature is easy and the more you play, the easier it will come. Youtube has LOTS of different musicians who teach basics, scales, modes, and some experimental stuff which I think is important to have a grasp on if you plan on writing your own music...but then again it's all up to you! I hope this helps, I'll be more than happy to give you my advice/opinion.

For tabs, check these out:

and type in "guitarlessonscom" in youtube and this guy has LOTS of tips for starting off.
