Hey, I was wondering if anyone in here is also on www.tangle.com AKA "GodTube". I've just made an account there and a group called "RationalAtheists" and it would be nice to form a decent group.

For those who don't know GodTube, it's a breeding ground for creationism. An ID-HQ. If you want to find something good about atheism or evolution on there, good luck searching.

So for those who aren't there: shall we change it?
For those who ARE there: shall we form a group?

I actually re-discovered this place the other day looking for some Bibleman clips. The only video I remember distinctly from before was one about a crazed gunman going around giving Christians secret tests of character or something. Came complete with the most NARM-tacular acting ever

The reason why it might not be approved yet, is first of all because I've made it less than 24 hours ago and they need to take a look at it before approving it. So I'd wait 24 hours before saying they don't want us there. regardless, we could still connect through friendships and maybe find an other name to make a group. Maybe even start a League of Reason there...we already have a banner and such. But I don't want to be the maker of it though...just a soldier in the big war.

okay, the group has been approved. just look for Rational Atheists. I'm trying to get the hang of that site...not quite like YouTube.

GodTube, Conservapedia, and other such nonsense websites are absurd, cute, funny, and deplorable at the same time.


I don't look at them unless I'm in a really malicious mood and feel like openly laughing at other people's stupidities.

well, I haven't been banned yet and I'm slowly getting some rational people together...so that's good...maybe if I took a better look, I'd find a lot more rational people.

yeah, just join GodTube and post your videos. there are plenty of creationists to debunk.

We'll see how far their censorship goes, I uploaded this avatar there(I've used this for the past 10 years as my forum-image) with a title that went something like:
"The five wounds of christ, the five books of pentateuch(genesis-deuteronomy) or whatever you want to symbolize with it"

Depending on how well the admins are informed on the matter, it can get approved, "this symbol represents the pagan religions today, sry" or maybe even a ban on the whole account with a comment like "DEVIL WORSHIPPING, RYAAAAAAAAARGH!"

I think we should definitely make a group and debate them in their own turf.

I've already had request to debate, in the Rational Atheists group (via PM). So I've accepted and asked him:

"Okay, first question: can you please tell me what the theory of evolution is, in your own words? Try to be as complete as possible.

I ask this, because most who don't accept evolution, have no understanding of what it actually is. To get you going (since some people are already wrong from the start): evolution starts with life, so it doesn't try to explain the origin of life. That would be abiogenesis."

We'll see how it goes.

Okay, I've just checked and the group "Rational Atheists" is the biggest group for atheists on GodTube. (it certainly is the most popular one, on place 1831 of 3806) But then again, it's probably the ONLY group for atheists on GodTube...

So everybody on GodTube (Tangle), be sure to join.

(On a more positive side note: we're the 3rd most popular this week :p)

Update: it appears that the group Rational Atheists has been removed from the "this month's most popular" ranking under bizarre circumstances.

The group has only been in existence for 12 days, which is younger than some groups in that ranking. There are groups older, with more views and some with less views, which are still on that page. This is clearly meant to keep us from getting known.

The group hasn't been banned (yet), so they're either doing it without much attention or there's a glitch in the system, which just happened to target the only atheistic group on the site...

Support? anyone?

Something is still better than nothing. Also, the mail I sent to Tangle got the group back on the "this month's most popular" list. Only 5000+ views to go and we're on the front page of "most popular of all time"...yay :p
