Getting things rolling again

arg-fallbackName="he_who_is_nobody"/>
The meeting is happening at seven in the morning on a Sunday for me. Most weekends that would not be a problem, but this weekend I have a friend coming in from out of town. I will either be up and not functional or down for the count. Can someone please keep the minutes of the meeting.

Shit shit...

so a change in weekend plans means I'll be driving home at 1pm GMT. That's 8am for me. My girlfriend lives an hour and some away. She was supposed to come down Saturday but now she's going to be working all night, not off til 7am. And in food service, no one is ever out on time. I'm picking her up after work.

I'll be late at best :(

I feel really shitty since I suggested that time.

I may be lurking, but I want to help.

It's summer. Hit me up about research/planning/writing/speaking or whatever you may need from me.

I pop in here from time to time, but a steady network would be killer for coordinating anything with me. You guys got a Facebook funnel or other common social connection?

No Facebook, however, I'm usually connected to the internet. Both networks are of a high quality... I think we got stuck on ideas and formats, but I'm still willing to put time in.

How about something like a retrospective of the last ten years of the so-called skeptic/reason/freethinker communities (via LoR's own history)?

What, if any, were its goals and how many were met; how it comported itself changed over time and whether it's been successful; what does its future hold? Where are the crazy bastards now? The guy with the big headphones, Sean whatever-his-name-was, TruthfulChristian, Pat Condell, Richard Coughlan and so on... All that jazz.

Edit: That likely means someone would have to watch Thunderf00t's old videos

That would be a can of worms with some very juicy ones. I like it.

Cool. No time like the present.

Any of the old crews and/or videos you can recall? We'll need to do a list, pick the most interesting ones.

Well shit. The free thinking community was the first to actually be hit by and experience extreme DMCA abuse on YouTube.
It would be interesting to talk politics and things from the millions country perspective though.

My view on the League and other such sites is that they have drive as long as there is a BBEG in the building to talk about.

Shock of God, Ken Ham, Nephilim, etc. are excellent examples. Plus the other trolls on the boards that were eventually smashed.
(Let's call this the piñata effect)

We need to shift that to the far side and focus on material with continuous substance.
While the piñata effect is really fun and makes for a good show, after a while you sober up, realize the party ended hours ago, and that you're not hitting a piñata you've beat some girl's horse to death.

Maybe a shift towards multi platform views on popular issues? Like, Americans explaining American views to British People abs Australians doing it and so on. Get that multiple culture dialogue in here, son.

Each episode a Specific Topic until we get the show back on the map.

Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't glean that from the post.

What's the usual show format right now? And are we still going to use Skype? If so, what's the group?

arg-fallbackName="Prolescum"/>
Haven't quite figured that out yet. Ideas welcome, and I'll do some research this evening. I'll jump into the chat too around 22:00 BST.

Okay okay okay. Let's set our clocks to GMT/Zulu and work from there.

Availability to talk at 12:00 GMT on Sunday?
That will be 22:00 on Saturday here in Hawaii.

Takers?

I can do that, although I thought we were BST at the moment. Could be wrong, I'm not a farmer.
