The only way that would work would be if we had a way to make antimatter that costs less energy to make than it delivers when used. That's not necessarily true - the value in antimatter is energy density. Even if it cost you more energy to produce, the fact that you can drive around for a couple of years on a thimble of fuel could be the determining factor.
