To be fair we are all under 21 and recorded this in our drummer's bedroom xDProlescum said:I am an ex-music pro (long story) and I mostly agree with MGK.
It's not a bad tune, and I like the singer's voice. Can't really tell what the lyrics are, but I've always considered them secondary. The singing definitely needs to be emphasised above the guitar (there are always objections to this - ignore them).
The guitar sound is not very appealing (it's tinny and over-driven), and there seem to be missing tones from the low end. I think it's likely that this is a limitation of the recording equipment and a slightly zealous guitarist (aren't they all?). The other criticism I have is the tightness of the band as a whole.
All that said, I think all you need is more practice, a professional sound engineer and some quality (no drinking, smoking spliffs or groupies) studio time.

I'll see if I can find one in our area for our next project. But first we gotta find gigs to get the cashola.Prolescum said:Dak said:To be fair we are all under 21 and recorded this in our drummer's bedroom xD
Heh, thought as much. In that case, keep the drink, drugs and groupies to a minimum.
I really do recommend saving up a few quid for a studio and a decent sound engineer though (they're not that expensive - at least where I live...), it's an exciting, productive and very interesting learning curve. It's not necessarily the best working environment, but you can't have everything

This is a song my band recorded not too long ago. I'm wondering what your refined opinions are =D
