When they are talking about the gene pool did Dr Jackson said it wrong with 4 gene pools. Because if Noah flood would be true there where 5 gene pools on board. We had ms and mr Noah, 3 sons and 3 wifes of the sons. Lets say the wifes where from different families that would mean the man is one gene pool and all the women would be separate and there 4 women on board namely ms Noah and the 3 wifes of the sons. Lets not talk about getting childeren and then the next generation.

Thinking about it there should be six gene pools aboard.

ms. Noah (A)
mr. Noah (B)
Son 1 (AB)
Son 2 (AB)
Son 3 (AB)
Wife 1 (C)
Wife 2 (D)
Wife 3 (E)

I’m not even considering adultery by ms. Noah at this time.

Greetings,

It refers to mitochondrial DNA - there are basically four mtDNA lines: Mrs Noah's (through her three sons), and the three wives.

Kindest regards,

James

But would the sons not be a blend of ms and mr Noah to start with. Also if the three wifes are separate mtDNA then ms and mr Noah are also separate.

The three sons have the same mtDNA from their mother - the three wives are each separate mtDNAs, hence four all told.

Is there no exception to that rule if you only get it from the mother?

Very rarely [1] - in humans. mtDNA is virtually always passed down through the maternal line, in the same way that the Y-chromosomal DNA is passed down through the paternal line.

Then why said Jackson 4 gene pools if he believes the bible it‘s only one (Eve) or where there two at the start.

Greetings,

The creationists can always claim that "mitochondrial Eve" is the same as the biblical one - even though the time-frame (millions versus thousands of years) don't match.

He did correlate the 4 Homo species with the four gene pools - but then said that he wasn't claim that that was really the case.

Not sure what to make of his stance on it.

Kindest regards,

James
