Discussion thread for Bernhard.visscher vs. hackenslash

arg-fallbackName="Dragan Glas"/>
Greetings,

It's simple, really.

If you can't cite sources, it's just your opinion against which he's arguing.

If he can show you that he knows more and/or you don't know what you're talking about and/or are misrepresenting something, he wins - ergo, creationism/ID/God exists.

Kindest regards,

James

That debate was like watching a ship sink. Stunning, yet sad.

Now, will Bernie address the radiolaria direct ancestor fossils, and face the fact his claims about Lucy and the other fossils are bullshit?

Oh who am I kidding, he never will.

Let's wait for his final reply! After that I'll happily pay you with my enormous fortune of internet money that I stole...own.

hackenslash has declared the debate over even though Bernhard is still within the time limit to respond. Assuming he does not then I would
like to think that this has been a win win for both of them : for hackenslash because he has comprehensively destroyed Bernhards hypothesis
and for Bernhard because he also knows that so has done the honourable thing by not responding. The fact he has not done so would indicate
that he has no relevant counter points to make and may even be educating himself by actually reading with an open mind what hack has posted
I have no idea if that is what he is doing but it is not entirely inconceivable that it is. It would certainly be nice to think so and so please let it be true

Honestly, I cannot believe it took you this long to end this. I thought it would have been over after reading Bernard.visscher's first post.

And the hits just keep on coming...

Ah, well. My opening will at least be a good template for the section of my book dealing with evolutionary theory.

I can't believe he still hasn't read the archaeopteryx article he cited and still thinks it supports him.

Well, maybe I can.

Bernard might be the best example of Dunning-Kruger we've had here.

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.

p.s. See this Elshamah.....this is how you copy and paste other peoples words!

Well, that means it was not all for nothing.

Once again, I fear the credit properly goes to Darwin:

Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.

I know that one as well but Darwin's quote is a bit longer actually:
"Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science."

But I agree that in essence they are very much alike. Also like this one: "You're only educated if you understand how ignorant you are.", but for the life of me I can't remember who said it.

We can probably trace that back to Plato (quoting Socrates, who may well have been little more than a didactic device devised by Plato):

I know only that I know nothing.

And yet again Bernie uses the information canard, shamelessly dishonest shit-weasel is all he can be.
