I'm a crap apologist. My usual response is along the lines of "yeah, that doesn't make sense to me either."

I suppose the obvious question is should the Christian answer with meekness and fear or gentleness (whatever) or only answer those who ask a question with meekness, fear, gentleness, or whatever?

Coincidently, I have found that if you find a reason to help them, because they are hungry, cold, or something else that shows they need your help, they will recoil and never speak to you again. Just my experience when I offered soup to a born again who was in the snow and obviously cold.
