Charlie Brooker is close to being a genius IMO, he's definitely a very sharp man.

Here's the latest episode of Newswipe on BBC iPlayer:

You might need to watch that more than once, CB's style is quite understated, but he makes some killer observations about the media, and there's a very interesting piece from a journalist about anonymous sources.

Addendum:

The first feature about non-stories in the media relates directly to this thread:

Charlie Brooker is great!

I found his stuff on YT some time ago. Here's the first part of the first eps:

Great stuff.

That's the repeat of the series that aired at the beginning of the year, non?

CB is great, I agree. Catch him @ the Grauniad a couple of times a week.

Edit: You should also check out Doug Stanhope's stand-up, there's plenty available on youtube.

I highly recomend his books to anyone with eyes.
Why must you terrorise the blind like this?

They have audiobooks, and they can listen to screen/news/games wipe on the TV. They wont be left behind.

If the Tories had won more seats, or slogged on as a minority government, at least we'd have a clear set of hate figures we could start despising immediately. Instead, we've got the Nazis forming an alliance with the Smurfs.

I do like the Brooker, have been a fan since screenwipe. I don't like where he's being lead at the moment though, seems to be down a sort of trampish more obsceme Jimmy Carr but with weird hair. Could just be me being paranoid.

Still, face of the channel eh? XD
