Also this idea that "Mary remains a virgin" confuses me. The Bible clearly states that Jesus had siblings and yet the Catholic Church seem to have this weird idea that Mary somehow remained a virgin for these pregnancies as well, or am I missing something here?
Nope, that's pretty much exactly it. The catholic church is angry because it implies that Joseph and Mary had sex, and therefore Mary was not a virgin her entire life, and according to them, Mary *was* a virgin her entire life (obviously the spokesperson is a bit confused, or failed to notice the "after god" part). In a certain sense, this is a core doctrine of the catholics, so important is Mary to them (there was, may still be, a "cult of Mary"); it's about as horrible a thing to suggest as it would be to suggest Jesus wasn't the son of god to protestants.

Many Catholics interpret the "brother of James" line in the Gospels to mean brother in the "comrade" kind of way, not a literal sibling.

Sure it's a crock but, just FYI, that's how they rationalize it.

Well it's no wonder that there's a "Cult of Mary", after all many of the early Christians had converted from pagan Earth Worship, and probably weren't ready to give up The Holy Mother.

What!? The Catholic church holds on to an illogical doctrine contradicted by biology, history, and the bible? Surely there has been some mistake this sort of thing is completely unprecedented in the church's 2000 year history.

And for once, sarcasm translates well over the internet. We have a winner! :D

I'm not sure if I should be laughing because the old lady actually thought slicing the billboard would to much, or facepalming at the sheer stupidity of the people being offended by the damn thing.
