A skeptic's shockingly accurate star chart interpretation.

As for being what you would tell an 'avowed skeptic,' keep in mind that the astrologer has never met me. I have not come into contact with them once. They have never seen me, nor heard of me, besides perhaps in passing.
I guarantee the astrologer has met hundreds if not thousands of people like you before, and there are thousands and thousands more like you out there. Astrologers are just using the stars as an excuse to (1) get money from you and (2) attempt to connect with you using psycholigical techniques masked as some divine reading.

There was probably some dude that walked in 20 mins after that she gave the exact same reading to. I have to say that "your" reading could fit me also, 80%+.
I don't mean to be rude here but you come across a bit arrogant when you say those readings are just for you, sorry to be blunt but you need to get over yourself and get over this stupid astrological reading. Don't let em suck you in.

I know this has been said already several times on this thread, but I'm going to reiterate it once again. Broad generalizations of character traits are nothing mystical. Even if an astrologer told me that I prefer cheesecake to apple pie (which I do) I would not be convinced.
Astrology purports to be able to predict future events. I don't mean some vague "you will find your true calling" or "There is a big change in your future, follow your heart." No, I mean, "Bell labs is going to call and offer you a job next week." Now THAT would be compelling evidence worthy of further investigation.

PS
I'm still waiting for that call.

I would just like to add that even if there were a couple of these predictions that felt like they were "just a bit too accurate to be a general statement" you have to keep in mind that she used alot of very general statements, and that only 10-20% of these had a striking resemblance. Now, if there were just these two statements in there, and you felt they both applied extremely well to your character, it would have been a different matter, even if these statements were just penis-strokers.

So what can we conclude from this? Well, that shotgunning positive Barnham statements will give a person a fairly good chance to find stuff which he finds accurate, while the nature of the statements are that none of them are something you reject. And as seen in your example (sorry if I am a bit belitteling) you get distracted by the accurate statements enough not to realize that the ones which could apply to anyone, but didn't apply specially to you were huge misses.
