3D dinosaur fossil found

Some 110 million years ago, this armored plant-eater lumbered through what is now western Canada, until a flooded river swept it into open sea. The dinosaur’s undersea burial preserved its armor in exquisite detail. Its skull still bears tile-like plates and a gray patina of fossilized skins.

Well actually it was found 6 years ago, but sometimes you come across news that just make you smile . A 110 million old creature which was preserved not only as bones or flattened fossil, but 3D.

As a side note the fact this is a new species previously unknown to science just shows that we really don't have anything more than a little glimpse to the diversity that was Earth back in the day.

Sometimes good finds just keep giving.

Sometimes body armor just isn’t enough. A car-sized dinosaur covered in bony plates may have sported camo, too, researchers report online August 3 in Current Biology. That could mean the Cretaceous-period herbivore was a target for predators that relied on sight more than smell to find prey.

110 Million years later we can actually make discoveries on what colour the creature probably (well, possibly) was. This #¤%& doesn't stop surprising the awe out of me in regular basis.

Fuck yeah. Except if I was there, I'd have touched the sign saying 'do not touch' - far more amusing.

It's like writing a sign saying "Keep Off the Grass" and putting it so far from the path people have to walk onto the grass to read it.

In another universe, I am sure I'm a pixie or elf spoiling peoples' milk. It's just my nature. :lol:
