Free-will means the options are available, It doesn't stop you from choosing the same option every time. I agree that your fate will already be deicded but the options are still open - Just because the dog always chooses beef when given the choice doesn't mean its being prevented from choosing...

My thoughts were that we could have both free-will and determinism. You have the choice to do anything you want but who you are dictates what you will choose.

If that were true then heaven would be out the window.
