I posted one of my favorite lines about evolution on a Youtube video, To deny evolution is to deny a direct observation. It's denying the sky is blue while refusing to look up. I got the following as a response
......................
Yes, the sky isn't blue.......of course......I think a...

I wish I had posted this on the 28th because that was the official 12k mark. I'll make sure to post for Voyager 1's 12k mark on the 13th of July!
Absolutely wonderful.
I remember reading somewhere that if Jupiter were a bit bigger, it could have formed into a Star but I think my source (which I can't remember lol) is way out of date because this planet is 8 times the mass the of Jupiter but it's still not a star. Maybe someone who...
Wouldn't be awesome if once a month or so, DonExodus2, Thunderf00t, AronRa, AndromedasWake, dprjones, put out a podcast or something? Seriously that Q&A show they did was great and if they're able to get doing it, I would love to see them expand it further!
Yup, a friend of a friend said that quote. However, what you're saying about him still has merit. I thought he was a nice guy...then I read that quote.
I'm thinking of just copying a bunch of the responses I get from this thread and then adding my own. I'd do it only with the individual...
Okays so I randomly decided to confront a Christian friend of mine with some of my problems with the Bible. I specifically brought up Judges 11, which is the story of Jephthah sacrificing his daughter to God because God let him win a battle against the Ammonites. Jephthah had said to God that he...
Yup, read that too. The mid section of the book was a little dry for me, but overall it was a great and scary read. I loved her criticism of the media and especially the last three chapters of the book.
Science: The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence For Evolution by Richard Dawkins
The Demon Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark by Carl Sagan
(many more but I have to narrow it down somehow!)
Philosophy: Darwin's Dangerous Idea...
First of all, I ashamed of my grammar in last post!
I agree with your assessment of Dawkins' books, they not only describe various facts about evolutionary theory, but they also advocate a particular view of the natural world which is one of the reasons why Dawkins is so unique as writer. Glad...
FINALLY! I knew there was something that I didn't like about the argument and you just put your finger on it!!!!!!!!
Yes, we should address global warming, but this guys argument is just another form of pascal's wager. There are better ways of making a case for climate change activism.
I disagree. I think that most people have a very vague understanding of what evolution is and it's this sort of fog that leads them to be fooled by things like "scientific creationism" or "intelligent design". While you're certainly that there are people like Michael Behe or Kurt Wise you do...
" My understanding of zombie biology is that if you manage to decapitate a zombie then it's dead forever
Professor Neil Ferguson"
That is quite possibly the coolest quote EVA. Thanks for posting!
