    edX courses

Ah yeah, real-life courses plus online courses could easily overload you. Definitely take it steady. I'll drop some of them if it gets too much for me. My notes from UQx: Think101x The Science of Everyday Thinking: Illusions (2) Mistake in John Vokey transcription? I think he might have said...

The second session in The Science of Everyday Thinking is out, I'll be going through the content shortly. I also registered for: MITx: 6.00.1x: Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python (which I'm already two weeks behind on so get in quick) HarvardX: ER22.1x: Justice...

    edX courses

This is what I wrote for the feedback segment My notes from UQx: Think101x The Science of Everyday Thinking: A Taste (1) I'm looking forward to learning how to think, some of the common pitfalls, and how to avoid them. The "belief" survey was pretty straight-forward for me, I don't believe in...

    Know Your Bones: March 2014

Damn, even I’ve no obvious start. Unsearchable characteristics: have unknown species. A bit tough to scale this KYBs I think, though I am gratified to note last month I was able to hand WarK defeat while he was in the jaws of victory, those terrible terrible jaws (saved ya bud!) Also I...

Vatican 'must immediately remove' child abusers - UN

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-26044852 Love it! Serial pedophile enablers getting bashed by a relatively neutral party. The bit about opening the Vatican's files is very important, they've concealed so much abuse over the years it's impossible to trust them to do anything right without...

Maine Court Rules In Favor Of Transgender Pupil

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/31/maine-court-transgender-pupil_n_4703670.html I wonder if the root cause here is the idea of segregated bathrooms in general. If it was all done separately there would be none of these issues coming up? Not sure what to think.

    Leviticus 14 Challenge

Okay, I get it. I much prefer absurdist signs if I was out counter-protesting but each to their own.

    School Bible studies challenged (NZ)

I definitely prefer the outcome over the initial position. I don't think a specific religion should be taught to children using class time and resources, especially when it has the effect of excluding certain individuals. A comparative religion class or specific religion classes outside of...

    Impeach the usurper Obama

Yes this is true. The things that Obama has done that are maybe impeachment worthy are all things those calling for his impeachment agree with anyway. So the calls from them are ridiculous on their face. I wonder if there is a possible critique from the left however The thing is signing a piece...

    Leviticus 14 Challenge

I don't get it. Are we supposed to be acting like Biblical house inspectors?

    Impeach the usurper Obama

Impeach by petition. That should work out well for them. Obama hasn't even done anything that's impeachment worthy.

    Polypterus - Spiracles

That's really interesting. It's not clear to me from the article how the fish are using their spiracles, are they rising above the water surface in order to breath that way? Or is it more similar to a gill in extracting oxygen from the water?

Muslim woman must remove burka in court, judge insists

Why not? It's not a big imposition on the court's or anyone else's time. If she needed to be ID'd by a witness in open court for some procedural reason then okay but from the story it just seemed like the judge was being intentionally obtuse.

No CCTV in Aurora and Sandy Hook? Is this normal?

Are there usually CCTV camera set up inside of movie theaters and elementary schools? I know in high school my school had some camera's over the locker area but I primary school seems like an unusual place to need them.
