    The Scope of Atheism

I said you can mock me all you want, I didn't say I had to sit here and read the sack of flesh and piss attempt to buffer his own self-esteem by playing the "don't pick on all the poor religious people" card. You can't win a war by hugging the enemy just because a few of them aren't completely...

    The Scope of Atheism

Hey man, it's your prerogative to be a condescending prick all you want. Anyone who picks up a book that tells you to stone disobedient children and decides that any part of it is a good manual for life is fucked in the head. There's no other way to look at it. Now if you'd like to have a...

    The Scope of Atheism

You can mock me all you want dude. And I don't know if I'm anti Bahai or whatever they are because I have no idea what their beliefs entail or what they've done in history. So far I have been anti-abrahamic because I've never met an abrahamic religion that wasn't deeply disturbed, if there's...

    Is the world "magical"?

Nothing is unknowable, so the definition is inherently flawed.

    The Scope of Atheism

As I said, I don't know anything about them. If one of the Abrahamic faiths managed to not be completely horrific to others I'd be pleasantly surprised. I generally go by the rule that "If you think the Bible/Koran/Torah is a good book to live your life by, you're probably seriously disturbed"...

Australia to ban cigarette logos [AJ]

One should be free to put whatever they want in their body. On the other hand, one should also be free to not put stuff in their body. So smoke all you want, just do it the fuck away from me. Human ignorance is one of the only filters the genepool has left, let's not legislate that away.

    Is the world "magical"?

Is the world magic? Easy: nope. The minute we prove the existence of the supernatural (if we do), it instantly becomes simply part of the natural.

For the sharing of obscure and rarely used words.

That's all I ask :D At let's be honest, every word in here is "rare and obscure" when you think about the vocabulary skills of your average mouth breather out there. They have enough time with they're, there and their.

More on American stupidity: Gays have NO RIGHTS TO WED!

Problem is, a lot of progressively minded people also fall into the politically disillusioned mindset. They have to choose between two horribly corrupt parties and, to be honest, there's not enough push/information about referendum/bill votes. Also many states don't have direct voting by the...

For the sharing of obscure and rarely used words.

I've seen several words on this thread so far that I hear used more often than both homunculus and ubiquitous. Examples being: Odious Vapid Egress Argent Puissance All those words are used far more often than both homunculus and ubiquitous. Vapid, Odious and Egress are actually pretty damn...

For the sharing of obscure and rarely used words.

Okay, don't believe me. I first saw the word as it was a song on an Origin album, I looked up the meaning and every time I've ever used the word in speech I've had to explain what it means. I've never met a person who knew what it meant without me explaining it first. That would make it rare...

    The Scope of Atheism

I've never heard of Hindus and Sikhs blowing each other up, if that's true then I do have a problem with them. My point still stands on Buddhism though. And I am unfamiliar with the Bahai. Most world religion courses basically cover the 5 big ones, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hindu...

For the sharing of obscure and rarely used words.

I'm the only person I've ever seen use the word, personally.

    The Scope of Atheism

I've also studied world religion and the Hindus and Buddhists just don't really do much. They just kind of hang out and do their thing. There's even an atheistic/materialistic sect of Hinduism and one could argue that Buddhism is somewhat atheistic.
